A bit overwhelmed by the DD feature from yesterday, I'm used to my pieces getting one or two comments and maybe a fav if i'm lucky. lol.
Thanks to everyone that's commented, good or bad, and thanks for all the favourites.

Black, but not really.

Built upon the themes
Gray

and
Mint

I wanted something that wasn't so bright, and better highlighted what it was your mouse was moving over.

Thanks to Cwiiis for finding so many bugs that I would never have noticed.

You must replace the underscore with a period in the file name so Gnome Themes can recognize it. I don't know why DevArt changes it.

Changelog:
1.6
-Fixed text colour on progress bars.
-Added more prelight effects to various buttons.
-Fixed text colour on nautilus location buttons.
-Fixed text colour on combo-boxes/combo-menus.
-Edited various images.

Still to do...
-Fix Dropdown issues in Evolution and others...

For days now I've been looking for a dark theme that I could look at for more than 2 minutes without getting annoyed. This is the winner! The contrast works perfectly, and isn't overly bright or dark in any one place. I especially love the textured panels. Awesome job.

I installed Ubuntu recently. This theme looks good but doesn't work with it, sadly. Keeps saying "Invalid format".

Extract until you see the black folder. Then copy that into you ~/.themes folder. You can find it in your home directory and then pressing ctrl+h. On edgy I seem to be having issues with gtk and the panels aren't showing up right though. Looks like it reverts to gtk1 styles

Congrats on the DD! Nice job, it looks great and has a bit of eye-candy but it still stays minimal and clean... I love the black prelights/scrollbars, very sleek. I'm sure I'll be using it for quite awhile :D Mind if I make an Openbox theme to match?

Thx for updating... and maybe you should look at Vistabut for Prelight, because "Gray" seems to be stripped from that.

It's great that your getting so much attention with a gtk theme. Very nice job!

I love Linux. ;) I may definetely have to try this once my current theme with wacky colors gets old... =D

How nice... I'm trying it just now :D

Anyway, for non-GNOME users like me (I'm on XFCE 4.3 svn) you can install it this way:

mkdir -p ~/.themes
cd ~/.themes
tar zxf /path/to/Black_tar.gz # No problem for the extension, tar unpacks it anyway

Then (on XFCE) you right click on your desk and select Settings -> User Interface Settings. In the new dialog just click Black on the left and here you go :)
I suppose you can use "switch" or "switch2" to change the generic GTK app look & feel.
